A Franklin County motorcyclist died Thursday morning when the driver of a dump truck backed up after missing a turn and ran over her, according to police.
State police in Chambersburg said Vickie Morrison, of Greencastle, was directly behind the truck after it stopped in the 100 block of Commerce Avenue in Antrim Township.
The truck driver, Clifford Sims of Martinsburg, West Virginia, had stopped in the middle of the west travel lane after missing an entrance to a construction site, police said. Sims told police he had checked his rearview mirrors but did not see Morrison behind him.
Police said the investigation is ongoing.
